Nymphette, a homebred 4-year-old daughter of Fly Thru The Fire racing for Ed Allred, is one of nine distaffers entered in Sunday's 400-yard, $100,000 Abigail Kawananakoa Stakes at Los Alamitos.
Made the 8-5 morning-line favorite by track linemaker Ed Burgart, Nymphette will be making her first start since New Year's Day, when the mare ran fifth, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Famous Shining Star, in the 400-yard, $100,000 Charger Bar Stakes (G1). The mare drew post 8 and will be ridden by Henry Lopez for trainer James Glenn Jr.
Other contenders include CIR Lady Moon, a 5-year-old Utah-bred daughter of the One Famous Eagle stallion Moonin The Eagle trained by Monty Arrossa for owners Daniel J. Lee and Carol L. Lee. CIR Lady Moon has won three stakes in California and Wyoming, and she will be stretching out in distance off of her half-length victory in the May 7, 350-yard Miss Princess Stakes (G3).
CIR Lady Moon drew post 3 and will be ridden by Armando Cervantes.
