Peregrino AF, a homebred son of champion Separatist racing for Arturo Fuentes-Lopez, is the fastest qualifier to the June 30, $30,000-added Adequan Grants Pass Derby Challenge at Grants Pass Downs.

On Saturday, Peregrino AF won the first of two 440-yard trials by a neck in :19.780. Cesar T. Moreno rode the colt for trainer Jose A. Rosales-Gomez.

Peregrino AF was bred in Washington, and he was winning for the first time in four outs this season. The colt is out of Misterious Lady, a winning and stakes-placed Mr Eye Opener mare.

Peregrino AF has won two of 11 races and has earned $19,619.
