The Colorado Racing Commission on Tuesday approved a 32-date Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meet for Arapahoe Park near Denver.
Arapahoe Park's meet will run from August 11-October 2. According to a report in Daily Racing Form, there had been an order to delay racing to 2022 in part due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that order was rescinded on Tuesday.
Arapahoe Park generally races from late May to-mid-August. For its upcoming meet, the track will begin receiving horses on July 27. Plans are to offer seven races per day on a Wednesday-through-Saturday schedule. Purses are projected to average $71,000 per day.
