Chicks Beduino lit up the score board in 1986 with his win in the Grade 1 Bay Meadows Futurity.

His first time out, the gray colt won by a three-quarter margin over his competition.  This was the beginning of a successful race and breeding career.

Bred by Joe and Rory Muniz and John Bobenrieth, Chicks Beduino was foaled in 1984.  The stallion was sired by Beduino (TB) and out of A Classy Chick, by Chick’s Deck.

Rory Muniz and ranch hand Alejandro Ruiz broke the gray colt to ride.  Chicks Beduino proved easy to break and handle.  Given to trainer Connie Hall to race train, the gray stallion soon proved he had speed.  The colt won his first three races with speed indexes ranging from 97 to 101.

Chicks Beduino was retired in his 3-year-old year, with a race record of 14 lifetime starts.  Of the 14 starts, the gray stallion had seven wins, two seconds and one third.

Next on the list for Chicks Beduino was stud duty.  From a total of 2,014 foals, the gray stallion sired 134 stakes winners, seven champions and 79 Superior earners.

Chicks Beduino died in 2003, and was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2007.
