An American Quarter Horse Association employee and contracted show personnel tested positive for COVID-19 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The individuals are no longer on the fairgrounds and will not be permitted to return. AQHA followed COVID-19 protocols to sanitize all the potentially exposed areas on the grounds. In addition, contact tracing has been completed, and the individuals who were potentially exposed have been notified.
“Our thoughts are with them during this time, and we hope for a swift recovery,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “AQHA show personnel are committed to continuing to follow the event health protocols, including Oklahoma City’s facial protection mandate, and taking the necessary precautions to continue to host a safe event through November 21.”
Adhering to local mandates is a critical element for the Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; Nutrena Level 1 Championships; and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals to continue.
View the event health protocols and additional COVID-19 resources. As a reminder, attendees are required to complete a COVID-19 Health Acknowledgement and Liability Waiver. By signing the waiver, attendees agree to adhere to the event health protocols, including wearing facial protection, and understand the potential risk of being exposed.
If you test positive for COVID-19 during the show, please contact show management immediately at 404-867-2058 or 614-207-3152.
It is imperative to recognize there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any setting where people are present.
We appreciate your caution and assistance with providing a safe environment to host a successful Farnam and Adequan® AQHA World.
