David L. Martinez's Blue Eyed Jane on Saturday set the fastest qualifier to the July 6, $303,490 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs.

Racing in the second of six trials, Blue Eyed Jane defeated non-qualifier Seis No More by a clear 2 1/4 lengths while covering 350 yards in :17.590. Jorge J. Garcia rode the brown daughter of the Favorite Cartel stallion Tarzanito for trainer Juan Diaz Jr.

Blue Eyed Jane was coming off of a 2 3/4-length victory in the 350-yard, $102,000 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3) on May 10. The filly was bred in Texas by Valerie Moya, and she was a $16,500 purchase at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale in San Antonio. Blue Eyed Jane is out of Blue Eyed Fance, a homebred daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue who won the 2017 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

All told, Blue Eyed Jane has won two of four races and has earned $53,096.
