Bertha S. Irigoyen's Jess A Satin Flash sprinted to a three-quarter length victory in Sunday's $75,000 First Moonflash Maturity (RG2) for New Mexico-breds at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Prepped by Rene Saucedo, Jess A Satin Flash covered 440 yards in :21.362. Alejandro Medellin rode the sorrel 8-year-old son of champion First Moonflash.

Jess A Satin Flash was bred by Mike Abraham, and he was coming off of a ninth-place finish, three lengths behind winner No Mires A La Luna, in the 400-yard, $40,000 Zia Stakes (RG2) at Ruidoso Downs on July 31. All told, the gelding has won 11 of 44 races -- including three stakes -- and he has banked $296,052 while racing in exclusively in New Mexico.

Jess A Satin Flash's two wins in four starts at The Downs at Albuquerque include a neck victory in last year's First Moonflash Maturity.

A Flashin Blu, the 11-10 favorite in the field of six, ran second and was followed by Outta Debt, Freedom Flash, Effortless Candy Cat, and JR Bordeaux.
