The third all-Quarter Horse day of the track's 2020 season is set for Saturday.

Two state-bred stakes, topped by the $118,900 Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes (R) for 3-year-olds, are featured on Saturday, the third all-Quarter Horse day of the 2020 Indiana Grand meet.

Louisiana Lover, a gelded son of The Louisiana Cartel trained by Randy Smith for owner Duke Racing LLC, is the 6-5 morning-line favorite for the 400-yard Sterlie Bertram Memorial. Louisiana Lover has earned $102,665 from five races this season, and his four wins include a half-length victory in the 400-yard, $125,000 Blue River Derby (R) for Indiana-breds on July 23.

Louisiana Lover drew post 7 and will be ridden by Sammy Mendez.

Also on Saturday, eight state-bred sprinters entered in the 400-yard, $84,700 Hoosier Park Classic (R).

Beach Treat, the 3-5 morning-line favorite, drew post 3 and will be ridden by Oscar Macias for owner and trainer Ron Brown. A 5-year-old son of Escondido Beach, the gelding has won his last three starts, including the 400-yard, $95,000 Bob Woodward Memorial Classic (R) on August 20.

Three sets of trials will also be contested on Saturday. Eighteen sophomores are entered in two 400-yard QHRAI Derby trials, 23 2-year-olds are entered in three 350-yard Governor's Stakes trials, and 40 Indiana-bred juveniles are entered in four 350-yard Miss Roxie Little Futurity (R) trials.  The finals for all of these stakes will be run on Saturday, October 24, the final all-Quarter Horse day of the 2020 Indiana Grand season.

Noted Quarter Horse racing analyst Martha Claussen will be on hand at Indiana Grand on Saturday. She will be trackside to offer her handicapping analysis, and she will be available to answer all questions about Quarter Horse racing.
