Turf Paradise
Making her first start at this track, Jessaprimadonna won Friday's 300-yard, $40,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes.

Jessaprimadonna defeated Dasha Dynasty by a neck in :15.597. J.B. Botello rode the 6-year-old daughter of the Mr Jess Perry stallion One Sweet Jess for owner and trainer Laurie Ferguson.

Jessaprimadonna was bred in Louisiana by Leroy Janacek Jr., and she was coming off of a wire-to-wire, 1 3/4-length victory in the October 20, 400-yard Aged Invitational Stakes at Century Downs near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The sorrel mare is out of Favorite Primadonna, a Favorite Cartel mare purchased by Janacek from breeder Sunflower Supply Co. for $100,000 at the 2014 Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.

Jessaprimadonna was winning for the 14th time in 34 races, and the $23,600 winner's share of the purse from her eighth career stakes victory increased her bankroll to $152,163.

At this track on Saturday, the field was set for the December 23, $80,000-est. Arizona QRA Futurity (R) for state-bred juveniles.

Ralph and Carolyn Fales' Say Somthing set the fastest qualifying time with her half-length victory in the third of three trials. Ridden by Luis A. Valenzuela for trainer Matt Fales, the homebred daughter of champion Tell Cartel went 350 yards in :17.593 while scoring her second win in seven starts.

Say Somthing is out of Shiftin, a homebred winning daughter of the Jody O Toole stallion Gol and a finalist in the 2008 AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity (G3). Campaigned in two states, including California, the filly has earned $25,621, and her record includes a third-place finish, one length behind winner Heartlande, in the October 26, $77,800 Wild West Futurity (RG3) at Los Alamitos.
