The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum now offers a new trunk program–a field trip in a box that comes straight to your school. This program has gone through the classroom riggers to ensure included lessons are fun and educational.

“Artifiction” offers hands-on learning that incorporates TEKS in reading, writing, grammar, geography, critical thinking and economics. Imagine your students touching artifacts from our Museum, learning about their history and labeling an item as if it were on display–a learning experience like none other. We provide trunks geared toward three grade ranges:  kindergarten and first grade, second through fifth and sixth through ninth.

Everything the educator needs comes in the trunk ready for the classroom. The trunk is loaded with materials appropriate for the selected grade range. If you’re not a horse person, no worries. Our educational material includes an artifact guide – download a sample here! Once an educator reserves a trunk, Museum staff will email a lesson plan as well as all necessary materials to review and prepare for the lesson.

All trunks may be reserved for one week at $30 and can be shared between grade levels with up to 60 students. Trunks can be reserved online, then the reservation will be confirmed by a staff member. All rentals must be picked up and returned to the Museum by the party reserving it. Trunks cannot be mailed.

Teachers and administrators may contact the Museum at museum@aqha.org or by phone at 806-376-5181 with any questions.
