Each year, the American Quarter Horse Association honors breeders who have dedicated their livelihoods to maintaining the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. These horsemen, horsewomen and their families see their biggest accomplishments and proudest moments in the horses they breed.

AQHA is honored to recognize 2022 AQHA 75-Year Breeder Gene and Faye Reeves of Eagle Butte, South Dakota.

The Reeves started their operation with three mares to their name. They were used in multiple disciplines such as rodeo, ranch work, and also as brood mares. They have continued their original foundation bloodlines which started with Fertidy and Bar Nothing Springer. The horses produced by Reeves Ranch have a reputation for being sound, stout roan horses that can be used in all aspects of ranching and competition. From starting colts to picking potential future studs and mares for the herd, to selling horses all over the country, Gene and Faye Reeves have built a lasting legacy within the horse industry.
