Each year, the American Quarter Horse Association honors breeders who have dedicated their livelihoods to maintaining the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. These horsemen, horsewomen and their families see their biggest accomplishments and proudest moments in the horses they breed.

Stewart stood Skip Light Lee, which led to the opportunity to stand multiple world and reserve world champions Zans Last Light, Adonnis, Perpetuality and OSU Pistol Pete.

Stewart has been involved in several areas of AQHA, serving as an Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association director for many years, volunteering as the Oklahoma Junior Quarter Horse Association Youth Adviser and, in 1991, was the first woman elected president of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association. She was an AQHA director for 12 years and served six years on the international committee.

Stewart bred, raised and exhibited multiple AQHA world and reserve world champions. She’s still breeding halter horses that are being shown by her daughter and son-in-law.
