AQHA Legacy Breeder: Whiting Ranch

Each year, the American Quarter Horse Association honors breeders who have dedicated their livelihoods to maintaining the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. These horsemen, horsewomen and their families see their biggest accomplishments and proudest moments in the horses they breed.
AQHA is honored to recognize 2022 AQHA Legacy Breeder Whiting Ranch of Bells, Texas.
Whiting Ranch is owned by Steve Whiting who finds the American Quarter Horse industry exciting and rewarding through racing and ranching. Will Van, He Hota, and Lota PYC are a few of their stallions who have produced notable offspring.
In 2015, 9-year-old Chayni Chamberlain rode Dat Flowin Bunny aka Flo Jo at The American Rodeo, with the fastest qualifying time coming into the finals. Flo Jo is out of a He Hota mare bred by the Whiting Ranch, Hota Moore. He Hota was the most athletic horse Steve has ever owned and his offspring could do it all. Steve’s involvement with AQHA has proved to him that American Quarter Horses are the foundation blocks of the ranch horse, the competitive horse and the racehorse, and Steve hopes to continue the legacy through future generations.
