With qualifying reinstated for the 2022 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show and AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), be sure you take advantage of one of the three options to qualify by July 31!

“Additional qualifying options for 2022 were announced last August and were a result of member-driven initiatives, approved by the AQHA Executive Committee after review by the AQHA Show Council and Affiliate Advisory Board, ” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “Qualification by points is still an option, however, exhibitors now have the added choices of participation and buy-in as methods to qualify. Also, 100% of the funds received from exhibitors who choose to buy-in will be added back to their respective class.”

The qualifying period for open, amateur and Select amateur divisions is August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2022.

Qualifying Points

Exhibitors can qualify for their desired class during the 2022 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World qualifying period, August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2022, through traditional qualifying by earning the required number of qualifying points.

View the qualifying points. The national qualifying achievement will be added to the horse’s permanent AQHA record and exhibitors will pay the standard entry fee.

For each affiliate organization, the highest point-earning horse and/or horse-exhibitor combination in the Level 3 amateur, and Select amateur divisions that did not earn the necessary points set by AQHA to qualify for the class, providing at least one-half the minimum required points have been earned, will have the opportunity to enter the World Show. This qualifying method will not be added to the horse’s permanent record.

Performance Halter

Exhibitors who are interested in competing in performance halter during the 2022 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World can access this Performance Halter FAQ to help address questions.

Participation Qualifying

Exhibitors can participate in six AQHA-approved events during the 2022 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World qualifying period and pay the standard entry fee, regardless of the number of points earned.

Participation credit is earned by a horse on a class-by-class basis for the open division and by horse-exhibitor combination for both the amateur and Select amateur divisions. AQHA events encompass all judge numbers for a particular show or circuit. For example, the Arizona Sun Circuit is considered one event, even though it includes eight sets of points. This qualifying method will not be added to the horse’s permanent AQHA record.

View the Participation Qualifying FAQ resource to determine if the event you participate in is acceptable for this method of qualifying.

Additional Nomination Fee

If the exhibitor is unable to meet one of the two options outlined above, an American Quarter Horse can still be entered in the show for a significant nomination fee in addition to the class entry fees.

Open class nomination fees are $7,500 per class, while amateur and Adequan® Select amateur class nomination fees are $5,000 per class. Also, 100% of that money will be added back to the purse in the respective class.
