Jess A Little More speeds to his first career stakes win.

Silvia Aparicio's Jess A Little More dashed to his first career stakes victory in Tuesday's $47,311 Adequan Grants Pass Derby Challenge at Grants Pass Downs.

Jess A Little More covered 400 yards in :19.684 and recorded a 107 speed index under jockey Ruben Lozano, and his winning margin was 1 1/2 lengths from MC Una Aguila. Danny Montes prepped the sorrel son of Favorite Cartel.

Jess A Little More was bred in Texas by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP. Raced in three states, including California and Washington, the gelding has won two of nine outs and has banked $25,280, of which $22,813 has been earned from four starts this season.

Jess A Little More earned $21,763 from Tuesday's win, as well as a berth in the October 24, 400-yard Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Albuquerque Downs.

Mc Una Aguila was disqualified from second and placed fifth following stewards' inquiry. Honeys Painted Pop was placed second and was followed officially by Approval Given, Jess Candy Lips, MC Una Aguila, One Flyin Foose, UR My Chick, JS American Radical, Blue Bangles, and Just Watch Him.
