Breaking sharply from post 3, Valiant Tiberias sprinted to a wire-to-wire victory in Sunday's 400-yard, $40,000 Mr Jet Moore Stakes (G2) at Ruidoso Downs.

Valiant Tiberias defeated SC Money Maker by a half of a length in :19.784 while racing against a reported 11-mph head wind. Alan Hernandez rode the 4-year-old Valiant Hero gelding for owners Sergio Holguin, Cliften Nielsen, and Felix Rodriguez, and trainer Wes Giles.

"As soon as he broke, I knew we had it," said Hernandez. "It was good to get back to the winner's circle with him."

Valiant Tiberias was bred in Oklahoma by Reliance Ranches LLC. The gelding has won seven of 16 starts, including five of nine at Ruidoso Downs, and the $24,000 winner's share of the purse from his fourth stakes victory pushed his earnings to $442,050.

Valiant Tiberias was making his first start since May 30, when he ran fourth in the Grade 1, 440-yard Debbie Schauf Remington Park Championship.

"This horse loves Ruidoso," said Giles. "We had a couple of issues with him in Oklahoma, but as soon as he got to the mountains he was a different racehorse. We'll point him toward the (Grade 1) All American Gold Cup and see what happens."

Of Valiant Tiberias' career bankroll, $152,969 has been earned at Ruidoso Downs.

Shockinglyfamous ran third, three-quarters of a length behind Valiant Tiberias, and was followed by Apocalyptical Jess, Putinical, Senator Fast Jack, New News, Mitey Political, Jess My Kiss, and Relentless Gun.
