The Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity is set to begin the fourth annual futurity and horse show on Sunday, September 13, and end with the crowning of the 2020 Open Futurity Champions on Sunday, September 20 at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Event Center in Reno, Nevada. Continuing the tradition of the reined cow horse futurity on the West Coast, the event will feature open and non-pro futurity divisions; open, non pro and youth horse show classes; a western trade show; and the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity Horse Sale, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Committee will present scholarship monies to the Youth Bridle and Youth Limited class champions, and new in 2020, they will be the presenting sponsor of the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle.  The champions of the Benny Guitron Memorial Open Hackamore will take home a coveted perpetual trophy donated by The Friends of Benny Guitron. And, a total of 17 saddles will be awarded throughout the week to all futurity division champions and select horse show class champions.

Futurity and horse show competitors can find entry information online at www.renosnafflebitfuturity.com/entry-forms.

“We are gearing up for a great 2020 futurity, horse show, and horse sale,” said Ted Robinson of Oak View, California, and one of the founders of the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. “We are really looking forward to seeing our fellow competitors, owners, vendors, horse sale consignors and buyers, and reined cow horse fans in Reno.”
