Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona, has rescheduled opening day of its 2020-21 season to the day after Thanksgiving, November 27.

Turf Paradise's 133-day meet was originally scheduled to begin on October 17. The season will now run 110 days through May 1, 2021.

"We are opening that by opening later the Coronavirus situation will have settled down in Arizona," said Turf Paradise general manager Vincent Francia. "Regardless, we will have health protocols in place when the meet opens.

"We are working with Arizona HBPA president Bob Hutton on a date when the horses can begin to arrive in the stable area," he added.
