How AQHA is Governed

AQHA members can change the course of the Association.

AQHA Governance

AQHA is governed by a five-member volunteer AQHA Executive Committee. The executive committee is voted in each year at AQHA Convention.

AQHA Convention

All AQHA members are welcome to attend AQHA Convention, and most committee meetings are open to the public and allow time for member comments. Convention is also where year-end high-point exhibitors and horses are honored, as well as the inductees into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame. Visit to learn more about the annual event. And mark your calendar for December 31 – that’s the deadline every year for rule-change proposal submissions.

New directors are also elected at convention. View the list of individuals applying to be on the AQHA Board of Directors. If you have any comments or concerns regarding any of these applicants, email by Friday, February 28.
